Soja Kids Kung fu Program

Soja's kids kung fu program emphasizes flow and grace in movement. White
Crane Silat is taught non-competitively. Soja loves kids! We offer
ongoing weekly classes to help shape their bodies and minds. Our classes
teach respect for oneself, their peers, and adults. Our studio offers a
nurturing and structured environment where your child develops a can-do
attitude grounded in respect and community. Yes we can! ~ Together as a
strong family & community.
Rich Brown, kids program director
Rich Brown, has been a student of White Crane Silat for 17 years and a
trainer of the art for the past ten years. He has previously both
directed and taught in after school martial arts programs.
Rich is an experienced educator having taught K-12 special, regular, and
gifted and talented learning environments for over 25 years. He
directed a K-8 school, instructed and supervised graduate students in
the School of Education at John F. Kennedy University, managed a
vocational education massage therapy program, coordinated the curriculum
at a private middle school for gifted and talented students, as well as
managed two health programs in local public elementary schools. Rich
received the San Francisco Education Fund 2001 Golden Apple Award, for a
Stress Relief and Exercise Program (using Yoga) he developed at Rosa
Parks Elementary School in San Francisco.
In addition, Rich is a health educator who focuses on integrating
Eastern and Western approaches to facilitate health and wellness. He
teaches health promotion through qigong, tai chi, yoga, kung fu,
physical fitness, weight training, nutrition, and principles of
stress-management.
Rich holds a Master’s Degree in Integral Health from California
Institute of Integral Studies where his training centered on Taoist
health practice. He studied qigong with Master Sun-Da Jin, the former
Assistant Director of the Qigong Institute of Medical Science and
Research in Hangzhou, China, is a licensed massage therapist and an
instructor of bodywork at McKinnon Body Therapy Center in Oakland. He
has successfully completed a US Yoga Association instructor’s training
course and is a certified CrossFit trainer.

1x week, 1 monthly payment of = $75.00 ($16.66 per class)
2x week, 1 monthly payment of = $110.00 a class ($11 a class)
3x week, 1 monthly payment of = $125 ($8.33 a class)
Kids' class drop in fee: $20
Annual registration sign up fee $60
Scholarships available to those in extreme financial need
10% discount for siblings (10% per 2nd and 3rd child)
Kung fu pants and belt (no shirt) = $30
Belt only = $10
